Latin food is something I really love. Why? The beans people! I’m a huge bean lover and in the Surinamese kitchen, we also have a dish where beans are highly represented and that’s: Brown beans with rice. I guess it’s a South-American thing ;-)! I like to make chili sin carne (chili without meat)) and here is the recipe.

It’s been a while that there has been a blog post. A lot has happened in my life, which made me choose to work on one social media platform and that is Instagram. I will get into the matter on this blog another time. For now, I have a recipe and if you like sweet potato, corn, and beans like I do then continue reading.
In Dutch we call this dish: bruine bonen met rijst but also BB met R and in English: brown beans with rice. Brown beans with rice is a typical Surinamese dish that I love so much. My mother had to make this for me all the time. In this recipe, it’s about the sauce that’s made with brown beans so if you’re a bean lover just like me then go try it out. It’s also very simple to make.

This cake I’m going to make more often! It’s very healthy, sugar and gluten-free and vegan of course. I made this cake to use for food prepping to go to work and eat for a couple of days but this cake was sooooo delicious that it survived only two days. After my raw vegan challenge, I went straight to baking this cake and it was not only super delicious but also very easy and quick to make

A cheesecake with 100% completely raw ingredients and super healthy to start the day with. One of the recipes had to be a cheesecake because I love cheesecake. Remember my vegan strawberry cheesecake? I ate a piece of this cake every day without feeling guilty since the ingredients are healthy! My partner was lucky to get one piece ;-). Enough said, dig into the ingredients. Lees verder “Raw vegan challenge Day 7 (lemon cheesecake)”
The 4th day already! I went fo a colorful poké bowl this time. I realize that I’m halfway of my raw vegan challenge, three days to go. This raw challenge is also good for my electricity bill I guess since I don’t cook that much. This dish is a mix of raw and cooked ingredients though. Remember what I mentioned on day 1. I wasn’t planning to go completely raw with all dishes.
There has to be a fruit bowl with this raw vegan food challenge but this time it’s green and if you follow me on Instagram you know that my fruit bowls are never green. The body absorbs plant-based iron and vitamin C much better together and there are a lot of ingredients with vitamin C and iron mixed together in this bowl. Read to know what ingredients I used and what I think of the bowl.

I started a raw vegan food challenge. For one week I will post raw vegan dishes. They will not be completely raw since I’m not such a fan of raw food but I will throw plenty of raw ingredients in my dishes. For more information on my challenge check my Instagram account or IGTV.
What do you think of cheesecake? I really love it! In this photo, you can see that I couldn’t hold myself. I ate 25% of the cheesecake but I actually wanted to eat the whole cake…
I wanted to make a vegan strawberry cheesecake for so long and I finally made one.
It’s actually a pretty healthy one. It has no cane sugar, only raw ingredients and the good fatties! Lets get to it!
